Fayetteville State University’s Forensic Science Program has been granted re-accreditation by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) for the period of 2024-2029. The program, part of the Department of Biological and Forensic Sciences, has consistently maintained high standards of quality and professionalism since its establishment in 2006.
Forensic Science Director Khalid Lodhi, Ph.D., expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the commitment to providing students with a high-quality education in forensic science. The accreditation process involves a thorough year-long evaluation, including a self-study and on-campus site visit to assess facilities, engage with faculty, students, and administrators, and ensure compliance with FEPAC’s rigorous standards.
FSU is the first and only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in North Carolina to receive this accreditation, showcasing the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for success in the field. Under Lodhi’s leadership, graduates of the program are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue careers as forensic scientists or further studies in related fields.
