The Carbon County Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) group is a volunteer organization that focuses on supporting local businesses in the regions of Carbon and Emery counties. Led by Shanny Wilson, the Director of Economic Development and Tourism for Carbon County, BEAR aims to promote growth and create job opportunities within the community. By strengthening existing businesses, this initiative contributes to the economic resilience and sustainability of the region.

The BEAR organization hosts monthly General Meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at Utah State University Eastern in Price. These meetings provide an excellent platform for networking, collaboration, and sharing knowledge among local businesses, community members, leaders, and economic development stakeholders. The upcoming meeting on April 25 will feature Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom, discussing collaborative efforts in economic development.

Attending these General Meetings is an excellent way to stay informed about developments and opportunities in Carbon and Emery counties. For more information or to get involved with BEAR, contact Nick Tatton, Price City Community Director at [communitydirector@priceutah.net](mailto:communitydirector@priceutah.net). By joining forces with BEAR, we can work together to support the growth and prosperity of our community.
