This summer, children have the opportunity to learn and explore through Heal the Bay’s Aquarium Science Camp in Santa Monica. The camp is designed for kids of all ages to learn about the fascinating water systems in the area.

Heal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit organization that works to keep the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean. They offer a variety of programs and camps throughout the year to inspire a love for science and learning in students.

The Aquarium Science Camp runs from June 24 to July 26 and provides a hands-on learning experience for children to study marine science. Each week, campers get to explore different ocean environments, interact with live animals at the Aquarium, spend time at the beach, play games, and learn how to become stewards for the ocean.

Kelly Kelly, the Associate Director of Aquarium Education at Heal the Bay, emphasizes that the camp activities are designed to make learning fun and engaging for kids. Through experiences like digging in sand, discovering sand crabs, and other exciting activities, children develop a love for science and marine life.

The camp takes place at Heal the Bay’s Aquarium on Santa Monica Pier and is open to children entering kindergarten through eighth grade. Daily rates are available for registration along with weekly rates for those who prefer a longer commitment.
