The Prosecutor General’s Office has submitted a number of applications for the confiscation of illegal properties. Three such applications were presented in parliament today by prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan, with total demands exceeding 35 billion drams and 25 units of real estate.

The first application seeks the return of around 200 units of real estate from ex-Chairman of SRC Gagik Khachatryan and his related persons, including 56 properties located in Yerevan’s center. Additionally, Khachatryan is being asked to surrender over 1.4 million dollars in deposits and securities, as well as the right to demand loans equivalent to more than 23 million dollars and over 23 billion drams.

Another application targets ex-President Robert Kocharyan and seven associates, who are being asked to forfeit over 4 million dollars in deposit securities and participate in three legal entities related to the former president. The prosecutor’s office is also seeking the confiscation of five means of transport owned by Kocharyan and his associates.

Lastly, the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, ex-MP Gagik Tsarukyan and his related persons, are being asked to forfeit around 79 real estates, 42 vehicles, and the acquisition value of eight unidentified vehicles totaling more than 349 million drams. The prosecutor’s office is also seeking the market value of ten real estate properties owned by Tsarukyan and his associates, as well as shares in 39 legal entities owned by them. Furthermore, they are demanding that Tsarukyan surrender over one billion dollars equivalent in loans provided to him by individuals and legal entities totaling more than 16.8 billion drams.

In summary, the Prosecutor General’s Office is seeking to confiscate assets worth approximately one billion dollars from various individuals and their associates through these applications.
