The men’s and women’s Olympic golf events are just 13 and 14 weeks away, respectively. These competitions will take place in early August in Paris. The field for each event is determined by world rankings, with countries allowed up to two representatives (or up to four if they are all ranked within the top 15). Each country is guaranteed at least one athlete in both events, and in the case of France, they are likely to qualify a player for both competitions. Golf has been included in the Olympic program for the past three editions, with Justin Rose (2016) and Xander Schauffele (2020) winning gold for the men, and Inbee Park (2016) and Nelly Korda (2020) taking the gold medals for the women. Currently, the last players to qualify for the events are Kalle Samooja and Ursula Wikstrom from Finland. In terms of LIV qualification, there are currently eight members who have qualified, including Samooja (340), Spain’s Jon Rahm (3), Poland’s Adrian Meronk (52), and Joaquin Niemann (84). The rankings are constantly changing as players compete in various tournaments leading up to the Olympics.
