The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) is hosting the World Cup in Thailand, with a strong contingent of 18 American weightlifters competing. Despite the limited number of spots available, the competition within the team is fierce as each athlete strives to secure their place. Several American lifters are currently ranked in the top 10 in their weight classes, including women’s competitors Olivia Reeves, Jourdan Delacruz and Mary Theisen-Lappen, and men’s competitors Hampton Morris and Nathan Damron.

The People’s Republic of China is currently dominating the rankings across all weight classes. Among the women, 20-year-old Olivia Reeves holds the second spot in the 71 kg class. She has been training hard to improve her skills and make it to the top of her class.

Jourdan Delacruz, who competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is currently in fourth place in the 49 kg class. She has been working hard to recover from her injuries sustained during her last competition and is determined to perform at her best this time around.

Mary Theisen-Lappen is in fifth place in the +81 kg class. She has been training hard for years and has a lot of experience under her belt. She knows that she needs to bring her A-game if she wants to secure a spot on Team USA for future competitions.

On the men’s side, Hampton Morris is currently ranked seventh in his weight class after winning gold at the Junior World Championships earlier this year. He has been training hard to maintain his form and improve his strength.

Nathan Damron is currently ranked twelfth in his weight class after finishing eighth at last year’s World Championships. He knows that he needs to work on his technique if he wants to move up in the rankings and compete at a higher level.

Wesley Kittsin is also competing for Team USA but he is not ranked among top ten lifters yet but he have potential so we can expect him to improve his ranking as competition progresses.

Team USA will face tough competition ahead but they need to perform at their best if they want to secure their spots and advance in the rankings at IWF World Cup.
