Chalk the Walk is a community event happening in Calvert County from May 5-11 to raise awareness about children’s mental health. The initiative, organized by the Calvert County Family Network (CCFN), Department of Parks & Recreation, and Calvert County Public Schools in collaboration with local businesses and organizations, aims to reduce stigma and initiate conversations about children’s mental health and overall well-being.

Residents are encouraged to participate by using chalk to create drawings or write positive messages on designated public sidewalks or their own. Photos of their creations can be shared on social media using the hashtag #CalvertMentalHealthMatters. Drop-in chalk events will take place at various locations throughout the county from May 6-11, including the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse, all Calvert Library branches, CalvertHealth Medical Center, Calvert County Behavioral Health locations, Calvert County Parks & Recreation Community Centers, and the Community Resources Building in Prince Frederick.
