Darwin Millard, Vice-subcommittee Chair at ASTM International, shares what attendees can expect in the two ASTM Subcommittee meetings he will be leading during the Cannabis Science Conference. As part of the pre-conference workshops, participants will have the chance to take part in several ASTM International meetings.

ASTM International is a global standards development organization that aims to provide consensus standards for various industries. The D37 Committee on Cannabis was established to create safety and quality standards for cannabis products. These standards cover testing methods, cultivation guidelines, laboratory practices, and more. Stakeholders in the cannabis industry who have an interest in these areas are encouraged to attend the meetings and contribute their insights.

There will be four ASTM meetings on May 7th, 2024, including the ASTM Subcommittee D37.93 on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Meeting led by Scheril Murray Powell, Esq., the ASTM Subcommittee D37.04 Initiative on Equipment & Facility Cleaning guided by Darwin Millard, the Joint ASTM Subcommittee Initiative on Vape Device Safety & Testing also led by Darwin Millard, and the ASTM Task Group developing a Standard Guide for Cannabis/Hemp Laboratory Out-of-Specifications (OOS) and Retesting led by Jini Glaros, Chief Scientific Officer at Modern Canna Laboratories.
