A Pinelands Science Forum is set to take place on June 13, with a focus on the importance of forests in relation to climate change. The event, hosted by the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, will feature speakers from regulatory agencies, academia, and nonprofits discussing the crucial role of forests and the nuances of forestry practices in addressing climate change.

The forum aims to provide valuable insights into the impact of forests on climate change, including discussions on tree planting research, tools for identifying locations, and the pros and cons of different forestry practices. Scientists and advocates will share their research on these topics to help attendees understand the critical role that forests play in absorbing carbon.

Early bird registration for the event is open until May 15 at a cost of $35 per person. After May 15, the registration fee will be $45 until June 3. Registration includes a light breakfast and lunch as well as a tour of PPA’s Rancocas Creek Farm. Presentations from the event will be recorded and shared publicly for those unable to attend.
