The community wellness fair hosted by UT Health San Antonio’s substance use treatment initiative, Be Well Texas, is set to return for its second year in San Antonio. This free-to-attend event aims to provide a wide range of wellness activities, services, and resources to educate and inform the community on various health topics. State Rep. Elizabeth “Liz” Campos from District 119 will be the featured guest speaker at the event.

The community wellness fair will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mission County Park 1, located at 6030 Padre Drive in San Antonio. The schedule for the event includes a welcome ceremony by Jennifer Sharpe Potter, a guest speech by State Rep. Elizabeth “Liz” Campos, Zumba and HIIT workout sessions, group meditation, and door prizes.

Throughout the day, attendees can participate in all-day activities provided by local community and wellness organizations, including pet therapy by Therapy Animals of San Antonio and food distribution by the San Antonio Food Bank. Overdose reversal training and naloxone distribution will also be available along with hygiene kit distribution. Free medical screenings will be offered, including substance use screenings by Be Well Texas, wellness health checks by UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing, vision screenings by Lions Sight Research Foundation, HIV and STI testing by Alamo Area Resource Center and diabetic screenings by District 2-A2 Lions Clubs.
