On Tuesday, McDonald’s dramatic seventh-inning rally came up just short as they lost 8-7 to Mineral Ridge on the road. The day before, McDonald had won at home on an eighth-inning error that allowed them to score.

In Girard, it was a nail-biting game when they hosted Lakeview on Tuesday. The Bulldogs managed to pull off a 7-6 victory in what was described as an old-fashioned barnburner. Lakeview coach Cam Carson praised his team for battling through tough situations and playing the game from start to finish.

In Cleveland, José Ramírez homered in the eighth inning to help lead the Guardians to a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox. Tyler Freeman and Bryan Rocchio also contributed RBIs in the seventh inning as Cleveland continued their impressive start to the season.

Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, Andrew McCutchen hit a leadoff home run for the second straight game, Bailey Falter pitched a shutout into the eighth inning, and the Pirates defeated the Brewers 2-1.

In other baseball news, Belle O’Brien tossed a no-hitter, hit a home run, and drove in four RBIs as McDonald shut out Mineral Ridge 21-0.
