The NCAA Tournament is just around the corner and excitement is building as fans eagerly anticipate which team will come out on top. In recent news, Barstool Sports’ el presidente, David Portney, has placed a significant bet on the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team to win the tournament. In a post on social media, he expressed his confidence in UConn’s abilities, stating, “I have made a large bet. I really don’t think there is anybody who can play with UConn.”

Despite acknowledging that the +360 odds were not great, Portnoy also noted that they were still favorable. He admitted that he was concerned about the popularity of UConn as a pick to win the tournament. Both President Joe Biden and former president Barack Obama had also chosen UConn to win it all, although they did not place any bets.

Barstool Sports has been known for its bold predictions and big bets in the past, and Portnoy’s decision to back UConn could be seen as a testament to his confidence in their abilities. With so many strong teams vying for victory, only time will tell which team will ultimately emerge victorious in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
