Barbra Streisand recently addressed her Instagram reply to Melissa McCarthy after it went viral. Streisand shared that she had gone on Instagram to see photos of flowers she received for her birthday but came across a photo of McCarthy, her friend and collaborator. She complimented McCarthy’s appearance, forgetting that the world would see her comment.
McCarthy had posted a photo of herself arriving at the CTG Gala with Adam Shankman in pastel attire. Streisand replied to the post, asking if McCarthy had taken Ozempic, a comment that quickly went viral and garnered much attention. While McCarthy has not directly responded to Streisand’s comment, she did tell paparazzi that she views Streisand as a treasure and loves her.
The CTG Gala is an annual fundraiser that supports the Center Theatre Group’s mission of producing and presenting high-quality theatre, nurturing new artists, attracting audiences, and offering youth outreach and arts education programs in Los Angeles. At this year’s event, McCarthy presented an honor to director and choreographer Matthew Bourne.
