In Wilmington, NC, Atlanta Bread, a beloved restaurant that has been in operation for nearly twenty years, recently made the difficult decision to close its doors. The co-owner and operator, Jon Bibb, took to Facebook to share the news and explain the reasons behind it. He mentioned that after trying to negotiate a new lease with their landlord CBL, they were informed that their space had already been leased to another business and the center where they were located was being re-merchandised.
Atlanta Bread’s closure is not only a loss for the restaurant but also for the community. Jon Bibb expressed his gratitude to the loyal customers and staff members who have been a part of Atlanta Bread’s journey over the years. He thanked the people of Wilmington for their kindness and support, mentioning how much they appreciate the community for embracing their dream of running a successful restaurant in the area.
Despite closing down its physical location on May 12th when staff will start moving out, Atlanta Bread will continue its catering services until then. The announcement was shared on Facebook where they also expressed their appreciation for all those who supported them throughout their time in Wilmington. This marks an end to an era for Atlanta Bread in Wilmington but they are grateful for all memories and relationships made along the way.
