American figure skating star Ilia Malinin has made history as a world champion and world-record holder. At the world championships, Malinin delivered a stunning performance that included six quad jumps, including his signature quad axel, to claim the men’s singles title. After finishing third in the short program, Malinin scored a world-record 227.79 in the free program, bringing his total score to 333.76, more than 20 points ahead of the competition. This remarkable achievement left the audience at the Bell Centre in Montreal in awe, as they cheered and clapped for Malinin throughout his performance.

Reflecting on his performance, Malinin expressed his emotions about the crowd’s support and the impact it had on him.
