Amazon is expanding its innovative technology in its Fresh stores with the launch of more small format third-party stores with Just Walk Out technology in 2024. This follows the positive response to this technology in small format stores, where customers value the quick shopping trips and avoid standing in line to pay or scan items at self-checkout.

For larger grocery stores, Amazon Dash Cart is preferred, a smart shopping cart that uses computer vision technology to provide a convenient shopping experience. Dash Cart not only skips the checkout line but also acts as a shopping companion with features like maps and navigation, personalized shopping experiences, and real-time tracking of savings and spending.

Amazon believes that Just Walk Out technology will be the future in curated selection stores where customers can quickly grab the items they need and leave. The success of this technology can be seen in over 18 million items sold in these stores and over 140 third-party locations with this technology worldwide. These locations include travel retailers, sports stadiums, entertainment venues, conference centers, theme parks, convenience stores, hospitals, and college campuses.

The momentum for Just Walk Out stores is expected to continue growing due to the convenience it offers to customers and the benefits it provides to businesses in terms of increased sales, reduced theft, and return on investment. With more small format third-party stores set to launch with this technology in 2024 than ever before, Amazon is cementing its position as a leader in innovative retail solutions.
