Boris Pergamenschikow’s legacy continues to be felt in the musical community 20 years after his death. On April 30th, a memorial concert will take place at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt in his honor. The concert will feature performances by his friends and students, including Claudio Bohorquez and Christian Tetzlaff.

In 1977, Pergamenschikow emigrated from Russia to Germany and eventually became a professor at the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin. His unique teaching style focused on individual students and their development as musicians. One of his students, Claudio Bohorquez, remembers him fondly and continues his legacy as a professor at the Eisler University.

Pergamenschikow was known for his dedication to music and his attention to detail. He embraced new ideas and inspired many musicians with his passion for music. His impact on the musical community is still felt today, as Andrea von Bernstorff initiated the Boris Pergamenschikow Prize for contemporary chamber music and organized the memorial concert in his honor.

Former students and friends of Pergamenschikow will come together to celebrate his life and legacy on April 30th. The concert will feature compositions by various composers, including pieces by Pergamenschikow’s friends Mauricio Kagel and Krzysztof Penderecki. Performers will include Pergamenschikow’s students and artistic companions, making it a heartfelt tribute to a beloved teacher and mentor who left a lasting impact on the music world.
