John Woodruff, a seasoned business leader with over 30 years of experience, has been appointed as the Vice President for Business Services at Lake Land College. In his new role, he will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the college, overseeing all business operations including information systems, facilities planning, human resources, and accounting.

Woodruff holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in business administration from Eastern Illinois University. He most recently served as the Senior Director of the Network Operations Center at Consolidated Communications, Inc., providing strategic direction for customer service initiatives nationwide. Additionally, Woodruff is the president and majority owner of Express Drive Thru’s, Inc., a successful business he started 15 years ago.

Aside from his professional achievements, Woodruff is actively involved in his community. He serves as a licensed official for local track & field and volleyball through the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and was recognized as Official of the Year by the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association (IVCA) in 2023. Woodruff has also contributed his time to various community boards with organizations such as the Lincoln-Sargent Foundation, CCAR Industries, MASA, and the Eastern Illinois University Panther Club.

Lake Land College President Josh Bullock expressed confidence in Woodruff’s ability to integrate into the college’s leadership team and positively contribute to the college community. Lake Land College District 517 serves over 189 thousand students encompassing 15 counties and 31 public school districts in rural east central Illinois. The district covers Christian County among others which makes it one of largest communities served by college in this state.
