Mint Butterfield, a 16-year-old teenager with tech entrepreneur parents who founded popular platforms such as Slack and Flickr, went missing over the weekend in California. Last seen on Sunday evening in Bolinas, north of San Francisco, authorities have issued a missing juvenile alert and are seeking information to help locate Butterfield.

Butterfield’s mother, Caterina Fake, filed a missing person’s report on Monday and has not yet made a public statement about her son’s disappearance. Stewart Butterfield, who co-founded Flickr with Fake and later co-founded Slack, has also remained silent on the matter. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office described Butterfield as 5 feet tall with brown/reddish curly hair and pierced eyebrows. At the time of disappearance he was wearing black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants and black boots.

DailyMail reported sightings of Butterfield in Larkspur Landing, north of San Francisco according to a social media post by a family friend. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the situation and has not provided any further details or updates at this time.
