West Virginia University will face off against Pacific in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 UTR Sports NIT Championship on May 6th at the IMG Academy Tennis Courts in Bradenton, Florida. The match will be broadcast on Prime Video and final results will be available on WVUsports.com.

This marks the first meeting between West Virginia and Pacific in program history. The winner of this match will move on to the semifinal round, where they will face the winner of the Tulsa/Wyoming match.

West Virginia’s season has been marked by success, with their most wins in a season (14) and their first winning season since 2010. They also secured the most Big 12 wins in a single season since joining the conference in 2013.

The Mountaineers have been led throughout the season by Senior Momoko Nagato, who has a 13-7 record in singles play. Redshirt sophomore Maja Dodik and junior Tatiana Lipatova have also achieved double-digit wins with 12 and 11 respectively.

In doubles play, Nagato and junior Michaela Kucharova have had success with a 12-8 overall record, while graduate student Ting-Pei Chang and Lipatova have a 6-5 record for the year.
