In a stunning performance, Armand “Mondo” Duplantis broke the pole vault world record during the Diamond League event in Xiamen. The 24-year-old athlete cleared the bar at a height of 6.24m, marking his eighth world record. Starting at heights of 5.62m, 5.82m, and 6.00m, Duplantis demonstrated his exceptional talent and determination before attempting the world record height. With no misses throughout the competition, he solidified his position as the best pole vaulter in the world. The process to officially ratify Duplantis’ new world record of 6.24m will now be carried out by organizers and World Athletics. Once confirmed, it will be recognized as an official record, adding another remarkable achievement to Duplantis’ illustrious career.
