In February, a video of former NFL quarterback and UT alumnus Vince Young went viral, showing him involved in a chaotic altercation at Tokyo Joe’s in Houston. The fight started with Young sitting at the bar with a group of people who were arguing. As more people approached, the situation escalated quickly, with one person even throwing a drink. The group eventually moved to the other side of the bar, attracting more participants and spectators.

During the scuffle, Young was punched by one of the men involved in the fight, causing him to fall to the ground briefly before getting back up. Despite this incident, bar staff members were reportedly involved in the fight and called 911. However, no charges were pressed due to lack of evidence or witnesses present at the scene.

Vince Young is one of UT’s most renowned former athletes and played football for six seasons in the NFL before retiring. He was also named runner-up for the 2005 Heisman Trophy while playing for Texas Longhorns from 2002 to 2004.
