The Valley City State University (VCSU) Shooting Sports Team is set to debut in Fall 2024 as a coed intercollegiate sport, offering students the opportunity to represent VCSU in clay target sports. This new addition to the list of official sports at VCSU is a significant step towards providing students with activities and groups they enjoy.

President Alan LaFave expressed his excitement about the venture, emphasizing the importance of giving students the chance to participate in activities they love. Dr. Nick Galt, who will coach the team and also teach at VCSU, encouraged interested students to visit the university, tour the facilities and learn more about the team’s tuition assistance program.

The VCSU Trap Club, established in 2020 and practicing at OH Range in Valley City, has already achieved notable accomplishments at the state level, including a first-place finish in Single Trap and American Trap competitions. With the new Shooting Sports Team set to debut, Dr. Galt looks forward to building on these achievements and elevating participation to the next level.
