David Gilbert put up a good fight, but Kyren Wilson emerged victorious in their World Championship quarter-final match at the Crucible Theatre. Gilbert tried to make a comeback by winning the first frame with a break of 70, but Wilson capitalized on his opponent’s mistakes and won the next two frames. In the end, Wilson sealed the deal with a break of 67 after Gilbert missed a pivotal shot.

After his victory, Wilson reflected on his performance, saying he was focused on maintaining his advantage after a strong showing on the previous day. He expressed his satisfaction with closing out the match decisively.

The world number 12 will now await the winner of the semi-final match between Jak Jones and former champion Stuart Bingham. Jones currently holds a 13-10 lead over Bingham in their best-of-33 contest, with the match set to conclude later in the evening. This victory marks Wilson’s first final appearance of the season, setting the stage for an exciting showdown for the championship title.
