Amazon has recently launched a new mobile application, Amazon One, which simplifies user registration for its palm recognition service. This app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store. Initially, Amazon introduced Amazon One in selected Amazon Go stores where devices were placed at the entrance for users to register and make payments. With the launch of the mobile application, users can now register for Amazon One without physically visiting a location.
The app allows users to create an online profile, take a photo of their palm (both palms can be registered), and add a payment method for a seamless payment experience. The app offers a convenient way for users to engage with the Amazon One service, eliminating the need for additional registration time during payments. It also provides a smoother experience for retailers.
Amazon emphasizes the accuracy of the service due to the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. By comparing vector representations of palm images, the app ensures secure and accurate identification. All palm images created through the app are encrypted and securely stored in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. These images cannot be downloaded or saved on the user’s device.
With Amazon One, users can store and access tickets or loyalty cards by simply placing their palm on an Amazon One device. The launch of this innovative palm recognition service expands its accessibility and convenience, making it more accessible to users in the United States.
