The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) is exploring the potential use of hydrogen technology in the mobility sector. They are working to increase the adoption of this technology in Malaysia by engaging with relevant ministries and agencies to create a group of end-users.

Recently, MOSTI held a demonstration session at the lobby of the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry, where they were joined by Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli, Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. The purpose of the session was to showcase the potential of hydrogen technology in the mobility sector.

The Malaysian government has made a commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, in alignment with the goals of the Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR) outlined by MOSTI. The ministry also plans to collaborate with the private sector to establish a mobile hydrogen refuelling station, demonstrating the capabilities of local talent in leading the hydrogen economy.
