Meanwhile, Union-Endicott earned a 5-1 victory over Ithaca behind Matt Francavillo’s impressive pitching performance of 6 1/3 innings with three hits and nine strikeouts. Mike Folli’s third-inning triple that brought in Matt Ferraro and Scott Osman helped secure the win for Union-Endicott. On the other hand, the Binghamton Mets secured a dramatic win over Norwich, Conn, with a six-run eighth inning that included a two-run double by Scott Hunter. Despite Hunter slumping, his performance helped the team maintain their first-place position in the Eastern League’s Northern Division with an 18-11 record. In addition to his two-run double, Hunter hit a two-run home run in the first inning, boosting his batting average from .203 to .226.
