If you have an old cell phone that you no longer use, there’s a way to repurpose it as a modem to connect to the internet. This can be helpful in case of emergencies or if you need to work outside of your home. To convert your old iPhone into a modem, simply go to the “Settings” of the phone and select the “Personal Hotspot” option. Turn on the “Allow Others to Connect” option and choose a connection method such as Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi. Once the hotspot is activated, go to the Wi-Fi network settings on the device you want to connect to and select the network name you assigned to your phone. Enter the Wi-Fi password and you’re all set.

For Android phones, the process is similar. Go to “Settings” or “Configuration,” select “Internet and Networks,” then turn on the “Wi-Fi Hotspot” option. Find the network name and password and connect your device to it. It is important to note that when using your cell phone as a modem, you should have an unlimited data plan in order to avoid extra charges. Contact your network provider for suitable plan options that allow you to use your phone as a modem. By following these simple steps, you can easily turn your old cell phone into a portable modem for convenient internet access anytime, anywhere
