Last year, Travis Hunter made headlines in the sports world when he won the 2023 Paul Hornung Award in just nine games. The Colorado star player is known for his electrifying performances on both sides of the ball, and is starting to gain national recognition for his skills. Recently named the top player ahead of the 2024 season by CBS Sports analyst Blake Brockermeyer, Hunter is seen as a generational talent by many.

Brockermeyer praised Hunter’s versatility as a two-way player, noting that if Hunter played fewer snaps on offense, he could be even more effective on defense. Despite missing a few games due to an injury sustained from a cheap shot, Hunter still managed an impressive season with over 1,000 snaps. His performance has solidified his place as the latest consensus All-American in CU history.

With 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns on offense, along with 31 tackles, three interceptions, and five passes defended on defense, Hunter has showcased his ability to excel on both sides of the ball. Many have speculated about his potential to continue playing both ways consistently in the NFL, considering his unique skill set and passion for the game.

Recently named as one of the top players ahead of the upcoming season by Brockermeyer, it’s clear that Hunter is an incredibly talented athlete who can play at any position on the field. However, there are concerns about how much time he will spend playing offense and defense next season and whether it will continue in the NFL.
