In Broward County, Florida, at the age of 35, former Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis was tragically found dead in his grandmother’s home. The news of his passing was first shared on social media by Chester Frazier, a former Illinois basketball player, who expressed his condolences and shared fond memories of Davis from their time together at school.

Davis was drafted by the Dolphins in 2009 as the No. 25 overall pick and played three seasons with the team before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2012. During his time with the Colts, he earned two Pro Bowl selections and had a successful career with the team. Davis later had a brief stint with the Buffalo Bills before retiring from the sport in a memorable fashion, leaving the game at halftime of a Week 2 game.

Police were called to investigate a death at a home in Southwest Ranches owned by Vontae Davis’ grandmother, Adaline Davis. Reports indicated that a male was found deceased at the residence and authorities ruled out foul play. TMZ later confirmed that the deceased individual was indeed Davis.

As more details about Davis’ passing emerge, this post will be updated with the latest information. Our thoughts are with the Davis family during this difficult time.
