Erwin Müller, the CEO of Muller, a well-known drugstore chain, has been embroiled in a heated civil dispute with his three adult adopted children since Monday. The hearing between Müller and his wife Anita, and their adopted children, took place in the Ulm district court. The adopted children are demanding their compulsory portion of the inheritance and are therefore suing the Müller couple.

The 91-year-old Müller did not appear at the hearing, but his wife did, alongside the adoptees. The dispute centers around a contract in which the adopted children allegedly waived their compulsory share. However, the adoptees claim that this contract is immoral and void and their lawyer argued this before the hearing. Despite being present at the hearing, the three adoptees remained silent on the case. On the other hand, Müller’s wife and legal team were represented by a lawyer who also refrained from commenting on ongoing proceedings.

Erwin Müller was once a hairdresser who started his first salon in Bavaria in 1953. Over time, he expanded his business to include cosmetics and drugstore items. In 1969, he was inspired by drugstores he saw in Canada and America leading him to open his first pure drugstore in Ulm in 1973. Today, Müller’s drugstore chain employs over 35000 people worldwide with more than 900 branches across Europe – an impressive success story that spans over six decades!
