On April 5, Targus International, a large technology accessories manufacturer, experienced a cyberattack that disrupted its business operations. In an SEC filing on Monday evening, the company revealed that a hacker had gained access to their file systems and prompted them to hire cybersecurity consultants to investigate the breach.

Targus activated its incident response and business continuity protocols to contain and remediate the cyberattack. The company implemented proactive measures to disrupt unauthorized access and temporarily interrupted its network operations. Despite the disruption, Targus stated that it does not expect the incident to have a significant impact on its financial condition or overall results of operations.

The investigation into the cyberattack is ongoing, and Targus is currently working on recovering its systems. The company also reported the incident to law enforcement. Based in Anaheim, California, Targus operates in 100 countries and offers a range of technology accessories such as docking stations, tablet cases, and keyboards. No hacking group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
