The Iowa High School Sports Awards, sponsored by SCHEELS, has announced the nominees for the Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The winner will be unveiled during a live show on June 10 at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. This award is supported by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.

The Iowa High School Sports Awards is a nationwide program that recognizes student-athletes throughout nine months, culminating in a red-carpet event this spring. The show celebrates athletes, coaches, and teams from across the state involved in sanctioned Iowa high school sports.

At the live event, these nominees will be recognized alongside players of the year in 21 other sports. Additionally, elite awards for student-athletes on and off the field will be presented, including a Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and Athletes of the Year for both boys and girls.
