The 2024 State of Reform Health Policy Conference in Lansing, MI was attended by MHA staff, who participated in panel discussions on important healthcare issues. Laura Appel discussed the challenges of healthcare workforce shortages, while Jim Lee focused on the importance of technology and health data interoperability. Adam Carlson addressed the impact of depleted ARPA funding, and Lauren LaPine highlighted opportunities to improve behavioral health.
Other MHA members at the event included Tawana Nettles-Robinson and Michelle Pena from Trinity Health Michigan. Nettles-Robinson discussed health disparities, while Pena focused on workplace violence. Seth Karnes from HSS, an MHA Endorsed Business Partner, shared insights on workplace violence.
