The Seattle Seahawks were close to missing the postseason again last year, finishing with the No. 8 seed in the NFC and a 9-8 record for the second year in a row. Despite their struggles, they have made changes with a new head coach, Mike Macdonald, taking over for Pete Carroll and other staff adjustments.

CBS Sports has identified six teams that missed the playoffs in 2023 but are expected to make it in 2024. Among these teams is the Seahawks, who face tough competition in their NFC West division from strong contenders like the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. However, Seattle has talented players such as DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III that could help them succeed.

Joining the Seahawks in making the postseason next year are predicted to be the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Atlanta Falcons. The Jets are banking on quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning after an injury sidelined him early in the 2023 season. It will be interesting to see if these projections hold true as the season unfolds.
