The Miami Dolphins had a successful draft, with their first-round pick being the promising edge rusher Chop Robinson. In the second round, they selected offensive tackle Patrick Paul, who has exceptional athleticism and is still developing his true potential. While their trade-up for Jaylen Wright in the fourth round may have been perplexing, overall they acquired a good group of players.
My top pick from the Dolphins’ draft was Patrick Paul, who I believe has great potential to become a consistent NFL tackle in head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense. Standing at 6-7 and weighing 330 pounds, Paul has impressive athleticism and is just beginning to showcase it on the field.
On the other hand, my least favorite pick was Jaylen Wright, the running back taken in the fourth round. While speed is important for Coach McDaniel, Wright may not be the ideal replacement for De’Von Achane when Raheem Mostert eventually moves on. Wright struggles with vision and running between the tackles and may need to improve in those areas before he can contribute effectively to the team.
