In honor of National Volunteer Week from April 19-25, New York Cares is offering over 200 volunteer opportunities for individuals to give back to their community. The organization is dedicated to engaging over one thousand volunteers to serve those in need across the five boroughs of New York City.

Recently, New York Cares volunteers assisted fifth-grade students at PS 135 Sheldon A. Brookner in Brooklyn with science experiments. The students were able to enhance their understanding of core science concepts and apply their knowledge to complete various projects, such as creating solar-paneled racers and constructing erupting volcanoes. These volunteer activities provide an opportunity for individuals to make a positive impact in their community and support those who require assistance.
