The Science Art Music Festival (SAM Fest) is returning to Paul Smith’s College Visitors Interpretive Center (VIC) on April 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. This year, the theme is Earth Canvas: Art & Climate Change. Attendees are invited to join host Martha Foley and special guest presenters Suzanne S. Rancourt, Curt Stager, Michale Glennon, and others for music, visual arts, and engaging TED-style talks.

Martha Foley, a former morning co-host on NCPR, will be leading conversations with Dr. Curt Stager on Natural Selections. Suzanne S. Rancourt, a poet, author, and veteran with a diverse cultural background, will also be sharing her work as a multi-modal Expressive Arts Therapist. Her award-winning poetry and other works have been featured in numerous publications.

Scott van Laer, the Director of the VIC, is looking forward to increased community participation at this year’s festival. Inspired by the 20-Dollar Art Show Extravaganza at the High Desert Museum in Bend, OR, small works from local artists will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting VIC programming. Attendees can also expect interactive activities like trivia, giveaways, and contests.

Emmett Smith, Founder of Northern Power & Light Inc., expressed excitement about supporting SAM Fest and winter recreation in the watershed while giving back to Paul Smith’s College and the VIC. The event is proudly sponsored by NCPR (North Country Public Radio).
