Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is utilizing the Live911 technology to enhance the efficiency of their deputies. This technology allows them to hear dispatch calls while in their patrol cars, saving them valuable time in responding to incidents. Officials have noted that the minutes saved by using Live911 are making a significant impact on their ability to reach scenes promptly.

Deputy Juan Moore has been utilizing Live911 and has noticed that it enables him to arrive at scenes faster than before. Initially, only a few deputies were using the technology, but it has now been expanded to all of them. Sheriff Al Nienhuis emphasized the benefits of Live911, explaining that deputies receive real-time information such as details on incidents, suspects, and directions as soon as dispatch calls are made.

One example of Live911’s effectiveness occurred on April 3 when Moore received a call about fuel theft from a gas station in Ridge Manor. With Live911, he was able to head toward the gas station promptly and arrive faster than he would have without the technology. Additionally, Moore highlighted that Live911 enables deputies to hear the emotions in callers’ voices, providing an added layer of information and understanding in responding to incidents.

Overall, Live911 has proven to be a valuable asset in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of deputies in Hernando County by allowing them to respond quickly and receive real-time information about incidents.
