In 2022, Range Media established its Range Sports division to produce live and on-demand original sports programming, manage sports talent, properties, and IP, and invest in sports content and distribution. The company has now signed with Johnny Ferraro, the creator of American Gladiators, for representation. Ferraro and his partners are working with Range Sports on various projects across TV, film, attractions, merchandise, and live events to revitalize the reality competition franchise.

The original series aired in syndication from 1989 to 1996, featuring contestants competing against elite “gladiators” in televised competitions. It was later revived in 2008 for NBC and recently rebooted by the BBC, receiving a quick second series pickup. Will Funk and Greg Luckman, co-presidents of Range Sports, expressed their excitement about working with Ferraro to accelerate the growth and expansion of the iconic American Gladiators brand across sports, culture, and entertainment.
