The Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson recently had a conversation with his new teammate Caleb Williams, who was drafted with the first overall pick. During the conversation, Johnson expressed his thoughts on the perception of Williams having a “Hollywood” attitude and stated that such an attitude wouldn’t mesh well in the Bears locker room because players need to prove themselves as professionals. However, after reflecting on the interview, Johnson realized that his comments were misinterpreted and that he didn’t know Williams at the time.

In March, Johnson was asked about the comments he made about Williams and explained that he spoke to him about them before the draft. Through their conversation, both players were able to understand each other better and clear up any misunderstandings. Johnson emphasized that his comments were not meant to be taken negatively and that all he wanted was for Williams to focus on winning.

Williams assured Johnson that all he wanted was to contribute to the team’s success. The two players even engaged in some playful banter by joking about USC, Williams’ alma mater. Despite any initial miscommunications, both players are excited for the upcoming season and look forward to working together as key players for the Bears. With a new contract in hand and a promising teammate like Williams, Johnson has high hopes for the future of the Bears.
