The majority of unions at RATP have reached a deal with management on compensation for their employees. The agreement, which was signed on Wednesday evening, provides answers to the requests made by the 19,000 workers who were mobilized during the summer. According to a leaflet from FO-RATP, agents in the “metro transport services” (MTS) department, including the 3,000 metro drivers, will receive a bonus of up to 2,500 euros.

To qualify for this amount, they must not be absent from work for more than four days between July 22 and September 8. If an employee is absent for more than four days, they will receive a bonus of 1,600 euros. The agreement also includes bonuses for exceptional events and other benefits such as postponing untaken leave until 2024. The final cost of these bonuses will be calculated at the end of the year.

In another press release, the CGT-RATP of the RER department announced the results obtained for various professions within the organization. For example, switchers, drivers, operational managers, regulators, and security agents will receive bonuses if they meet certain criteria. Negotiations for bus drivers and station agents are ongoing.

The bonuses allocated to other sectors such as police and AP-HP are already known. The bonuses for police and air traffic controllers have also been announced. The overall budget for increased transport offer during the Games is estimated to be 250 million euros with additional revenue expected from Olympic passes sold to visitors. Free transport was initially promised when Paris applied to host the Games in 2017 but was later explained that it was not within the budget. Bonuses given to agents working during the Games in various sectors will vary depending on their categories and responsibilities. To finance additional costs IDFM is relying on revenues generated from Olympic passes sold to visitors and other benefits include bonuses for vacation taken during specific periods and an increase in usual bonus for air traffic controllers
