A barbershop was destroyed in an arson fire that occurred early Friday morning in Hialeah. The incident took place before 3:30 a.m. when two men threw a Molotov cocktail at the barbershop located on West 1st Avenue and 49th Street in Hialeah. Video footage from the scene showed thick smoke billowing out from the business as firefighters worked to control the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby businesses.

The owner of the barbershop, Ariel Esquivel, revealed that while he does have insurance, losing everything in the fire has left him devastated. He emphasized that he doesn’t know why his business was targeted and hopes that the police can track down those responsible for the arson. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, but eight employees are now without jobs.

Hialeah Police have confirmed the existence of surveillance video footage of the incident but have chosen not to release it at this time. There is currently no information available regarding the identities of the suspects or if any arrests have been made. This remains a developing story, and further updates will be provided by NBC6 as they become available.
