In Madrid, Nintendo unveiled Princess Peach: Showtime, a new video game where players must work with the theater guardian Lucy to save the Splendor Theater. The game is set to launch globally on March 22.
During the press event, Nintendo shared details about the game’s storyline. Princess Peach visits the Splendor Theater to watch a show but is interrupted by evil Grape and Malaúva Company who hijack the theater. With Lucy’s help, Peach embarks on a mission to defeat the Malaúva Company and restore order to the theater.
Players will transform into different personalities like swordswoman, detective, kung-fu master, baker, ninja, cowgirl, skater, mermaid and superhero with unique abilities that they must use to progress through levels and defeat enemies. Each transformation comes with special abilities that players must use to save Esplendor Theater. The game is available for purchase on March 22 for 59.99 euros.
Nintendo invited guests such as a pastry shop owner, writer/director and rally winner to share their stories of personal growth and seizing opportunities during the event. The theme of transformation was emphasized in the game as Princess Peach uses her abilities to adapt and transform in order to achieve her goals just like how these guests used their experiences to grow personally and take advantage of opportunities.
The variety of platforms, puzzles and minigames in Princess Peach: Showtime test players’ skills while also providing endless entertainment value. This new addition to Nintendo’s lineup is sure to be a hit among gamers of all ages.
