In just 70 days, the City of Milwaukee will play host to the upcoming Republican National Convention, with an estimated 50,000 visitors expected to descend upon the city. As businesses in the area prepare for this influx of visitors, they have expressed concerns about how to navigate their operations and accommodate the increased foot traffic.

To address these concerns, the Secret Service and the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee recently held a ‘Coffee and Conversation’ event for business owners. The event aimed to provide answers to questions and alleviate any concerns that businesses may have, especially those located within the security zone surrounding the RNC.

During the event, Alison Prange, Chief Operating Officer for the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee emphasized the importance of businesses reaching out for assistance. She noted that the Secret Service is committed to working with businesses to ensure smooth operations, including facilitating deliveries to restricted areas.

Businesses were encouraged to direct specific questions to the Host Committee as more information about security measures will be released by the Secret Service in June. Two additional ‘Coffee and Conversation’ events are scheduled for May 13 and May 20 at different locations in Milwaukee for businesses to attend and address any further concerns they may have.
