Paolo Pininfarina, a successful entrepreneur and leader in the automotive industry, passed away at the age of 65 after a long illness. He was the son of Senator Sergio Pininfarina and the nephew of Battista Farina, who founded Pininfarina.

Paolo’s career began in 1982 when he graduated from Mechanical Engineering in Turin. He then joined his family’s company, Pininfarina, where he held various roles before becoming its president and CEO in 2008. During his tenure, he led the company to diversify into other design fields beyond automotive and received recognition for his contributions to innovation and excellence.

Paolo’s leadership at Pininfarina resulted in numerous projects and collaborations with international brands, earning prestigious design awards. He also promoted Italian design education by serving on various committees and foundations dedicated to promoting design excellence. In addition to his work at Pininfarina, Paolo was also involved in historic motoring as vice president of the Italian Historic Automotoclub.

The Minister of Business and Made in Italy expressed condolences on Paolo’s passing, highlighting his family roots and commitment to Italian craftsmanship. His legacy will continue to resonate for years to come as he is remembered for his dedication to innovation and excellence in the design world.

Paolo was survived by his wife Ilaria, their five children, mother Giorgia Gianolio, who were by his side until the end.
