On Sunday afternoon, the Moss Center in Cutler Bay played host to a magical concert that prepared attendees for Monday’s total solar eclipse. The Alhambra Orchestra performed classic soundtracks from space-themed films like “Star Wars” and “Star Trek,” providing an audiovisual journey through the cosmos. The event was a collaboration between the Orchestra and the Frost Planetarium, with visuals from NASA enhancing the celestial experience.

The concert was sold out, and attendees were given glasses to prepare for Monday’s eclipse. The Frost Planetarium Director, Alec Warren, highlighted the partnership between the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center, the Alhambra Orchestra, and Frost Science, creating an out-of-this-world concert for guests. Meanwhile, the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science also planned its own eclipse event beginning at noon on Monday, while the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale hosted an eclipse viewing Monday afternoon.

The concert was a unique opportunity for the arts and science to come together and inspire people of all ages. The event showcased the beauty and wonder of the cosmos, providing a sensory experience that was truly out of this world.
