On Sunday, William Byron made history for Hendrick Motorsports by winning the Cup race at Martinsville Speedway. This marked his third victory of the season during a weekend that the organization celebrated its 40th anniversary. The race was particularly meaningful to Hendrick Motorsports as it was where they secured their first win.

Byron led a sweep for Hendrick Motorsports, with Kyle Larson finishing second and Chase Elliott coming in third. Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney completed the top five, while Alex Bowman finished eighth. The race went into overtime when John Hunter Nemechek lost his brakes, setting up a thrilling two-lap dash to the finish line.

Despite facing intense competition from other drivers such as Christopher Bell and Tyler Reddick, Byron managed to secure the win in the final laps. Larson led 86 laps and finished second, while Elliott led 64 laps and finished third. Wallace had an impressive race starting from the front row and finishing fourth, his best result since February.

Looking ahead, Cup teams will head to Texas Motor Speedway for the next race on April 14, with FS1 providing coverage. Race fans can expect more exciting action as the season progresses.
