In Oklahoma, a barge collided with a concrete pillar of a bridge spanning the Arkansas River on Saturday. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries on the road or on the barge, but South Highway 59 was closed as a precaution and traffic was diverted from the area. Meanwhile in Maryland, engineers worked to lift a twisted steel section of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge after it fell into the Patapsco River. The collapse occurred when the freighter ‘Dali’ lost propulsion and collided with the bridge, resulting in its collapse. Two people were rescued, but tragically, six others lost their lives in the incident.
