Ecowende has recently signed a contract with GBM Works for the installation of three monopiles in the Hollandse Kust West (HKW) Site VI offshore wind farm. The project will utilize GBM’s noise reducing technology, known as Vibrojet, which involves using vibrations on the top of the monopile combined with jetting technology inside the monopile. This innovative method reduces resistance during installation, resulting in a quieter process and minimizing impact on marine life.

Marcelo Werneck, the business development director at GBM Works, expressed excitement about the project and highlighted its significance as their entrance to the offshore installation market. Werneck emphasized the company’s pride in contributing to Ecowende’s ecological goals through this partnership. The installation of these three monopiles will showcase the value of Vibrojet installations and pave the way for wider adoption of this technology in future projects.

The scope of the contract includes engineering and manufacturing of the jetting system, as well as offshore installation support. GBM Works is collaborating closely with Ecowende’s partners, including Van Oord, SIF, and Ramboll, to execute the project effectively. In addition to this HKW project, Ecowende is also supporting GBM Works in their development project SIMPLE III by providing financial assistance and offering an opportunity to test their technology within the HKW wind farm.

Overall, this partnership between GBM Works and Ecowende highlights a commitment to sustainable practices in offshore wind energy projects and demonstrates how innovative technologies like Vibrojet can reduce environmental impact.
